Job Description:
Dematic has an immediate need at our Grand Rapids, MI headquarters for a Temporary 1st Shift Manufacturing Supervisor. The successful candidate must have experience in a union shop environment. Hands on experience with SAP is a plus.
Responsibilites include but are not limited to:
* Leading a team of employees to meet or exceed daily production goals
* Coaching, providing feedback to and resolving conflicts among team members
* Maintaining a working relationship with the union by following the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.
* Identifying customer requirements and communicating to the team
* Collaborating to improve plant productivity and increase efficiency
* Identifying and resolving process issues as they aris
Job Family Responsibilities:
Participates in supervising the completion of projects within unit. Supports semi-complex product manufacturing to ensure that cost effectiveness, manufacturability, quality, and safety requirements are attainable in the production process. Participates in ensuring accuracy and availability of semi-complex procedures to support product modifications and assembly.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversees the day-to-day operations of the group to ensure a smooth workflow. Impact of decisions on business operations is direct and moderate. May develop departmental budgets. Performs work in compliance with established procedures and/or protocols. Identifies resource needs and suggests justification. Troubleshoots and resolves semi-complex problems.
