SUMMARY: Management Business Solutions is seeking an Administrative Assistant in the HR department for our client in Grand Rapids, MI. This is a contract employment opportunity for 6-8 weeks. This person will be responsible for a variety of tasks relating to benefit administration, personnel records and other personnel services
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain records of employee benefits, grievances and personnel files.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of administrative and public reports by conducting clerical research.
- Maintain and verify personnel files, office supplies and equipment as necessary.
- Ensure appropriate confidentiality of all information, correspondence and reports.
- Assist in recruiting process, reviewing seasonal employment applications, conducting reference checks, and interviewing applicants and scheduling interviews.
- Post job notices, and serves as contact to departments with regard to promotions and transfers.
- Schedules new employees for physical examination; provides initial orientation to employees regarding benefits.
- Prepare agendas and take minutes for meetings regularly.
- Tracks and logs employment requisitions; completes salary and benefits surveys as needed.
- May be responsible for assisting switchboard operator or receptionist on occasion.
- Take incoming calls and other communication, refer to the appropriate employee, and pull together relevant attachments or notes for instruction.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma and two years of experience in clerical/secretarial work, or any equivalent combination of training/experience required.
- In-depth knowledge of standard office procedures, effective practices and processes, and office equipment required.
- Ability to make independent decisions in accordance with established policies required.
- Associate’s degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.
