Description: Our client, a metal stamping plant, is seeking a Warehouse Worker to stage, load and unload finished product and raw materials. Other responsibilities will include stocking and maintaining the warehouse inventory, packaging finished product for shipping, ensure no damaged product is being shipped out and operating the forklift to move the materials throughout the facility and onto the truck. In addition, the Warehouse Worker is responsible for assisting mechanics and machinists in repair work, perform back-up for assemblers, provide on-the-job training to new employees and ordering raw materials and supplies for the company.
Location: Detroit, MI area
Position type: Evaluation hire, long term, permanent
Pay: $13.00-$15.00/hour
Shift: First Shift (7AM-4:30PM)
Qualifications: An ideal candidate will possess the following:
- High School diploma or GED
- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required
- Forklift certification and applicable state certification for truck and/or rail operation
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds consistently
- Manual dexterity required for operating machinery
