Job title Fabricator
Reports to Fabrication Department Manager
Job purpose
Work in coordination with the Manager and other coworkers to ensure that all jobs are welded and
fabricated to the specifications of each job and meets the outlined requirements.
Duties and responsibilities
? Weld components in all positions.
? Operating equipment using safe work habits.
? Examining work pieces for defects.
? Measure work pieces with straight edges, tape measure, scales or templates to ensure
conformance with specifications.
? Weld steel, aluminum, invar or other alloys.
? Clamping, holding, tack-welding, grinding or bolting component parts to obtain required
configurations and positions for welding.
? Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
? Able to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols.
? Set up metal components in preparation for welding.
? Must be able to operate basic equipment like pneumatic and electrical grinders, acetylene
torches and plasma arc cutters.
? Must be able to use measuring and layout tools to properly fit up custom tooling.
? Basic GMAW and GTAW welding abilities.
? Provide assistance to production process.
? Perform repair as necessary.
? Perform work with help of various hand and power tools.
? Analyze diagrams and specifications and cut all metal accordingly.
? Evaluate finished products and perform quality checks on products.
? Assemble old units and perform modification and repair work if required.
? Collaborate work with metal sheets and apply various insulation materials.
? Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions,
irregularities, and continuing needs.
? Documents actions by completing production time sheets.
? Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different
requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Physical requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
