Ford Performance Vehicle Body D&R Engineer - 23641BR
DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Position Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned Design and Release Engineer to work on a relatively small and nimble Ford Performance team. This team delivers body exterior systems on our Ford Performance vehicles such as the Shelby Mustangs and the Raptor trucks sold through Ford dealerships. This engineer will design cutting edge exterior systems that make these Performance vehicles unique from our mainstream vehicle programs. These designs are functionally driven to robustly deliver the vehicle specific attributes such as aerodynamics, cooling, off-road structure and styling for our Performance product line.
Responsibilities:
* Manage pre-program work streams/deliverables for body to insure program content assumptions are feasible and aligned with program financial targets
* Lead the design and delivery of body components for Ford Performance product
* Lead the support of launch and prototype builds of upcoming Ford Performance products for body content at local assembly plants
* Interface with the core body function to maintain relationships and product understanding - sharing work methods, best practices, specifications, and guidelines
* Deliver all components/systems with quality that meet program function, cost, weight, and timing requirements. Lead and manage the relevant body supply base to deliver this content
* Support current product production and quality efforts
