DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Position Description:
Provide engineering support to the EMC vehicle level test process. Lead test development and RF system maintenance. Perform system calibration and checks to insure a quality test result. Perform periodic checks of antennas, amplifiers and RF instrumentation to verify proper system performance. Interface with regulatory agencies to support regulatory compliance. Develop new tests to address new technology and new test methodologies. Support the startup of a Reverberation test chamber and develop the test strategy to correlate testing with anechoic tests and incorporate testing into standard test profile. Train technician and test operator staff on RF theory and EMC testing techniques. Help support vehicle instrumentation and diagnostics and promote Light Out Testing. Help manage the test process to optimize test efficiency and improve vehicle throughput.
Position Details:
* Provide engineering leadership and oversight for full vehicle EMC testing
* Interface with customers to understand test objectives, develop test strategies and collect/analyze data to satisfy customer needs
* Function as the maintenance, calibration and quality system technical lead to ensure EMC facility readiness in support of Product Development testing
* Stay up to date on related test standards and develop updated or new test methods as required
* Research and recommend new lab sustainment strategies
* Develop efficiency improvement actions including test automation and lights-out testing strategies
* Lead diagnostics and troubleshooting processes of failed test equipment, test instrumentation, and facility infrastructure
* Maintain test systems software and operational databases
* Analyze test system performance parameters to monitor system health
* Evaluate test results and develop test reports
* Support diagnosis of vehicle EMC issues and support customer in development of EMC fixes
* Support development, correlation and start up activities for new facility and the development and prove out of MTR test methodologies
* Deliver test technician training programs on EMC test instrumentation theory, principle of operation, EMC test methodologies and automotive electronics
* Develop and enforce safe plans of actions for all test and facility activities
* Work with Environmental, Health, & Safety representatives as necessary to ensure compliance with all applicable guidelines and regulations
