Apheresis Collection Technician I
Full Time Schedule is Variable
Come bring your interest in community health and customer service skills to support the life saving mission of the American Red Cross Blood Services! Based out of Detroit MI we are looking for an enthusiastic phlebotomist to join our mobile blood drive team. This position will be working with our volunteer blood donors in the Detroit MI area to collect the needed blood to help community hospitals save lives.
Hours: Variable schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
Schedule is variable
Pay: $12.24 /hour
Valid Driver License is required. Phlebotomy or medical field experience is preferred, but not required.
Key performance objectives include:
• Balance production, donor care & quality requirements to meet daily blood collection goals
• Take the time to personally connect with donors – listen to their stories and help them understand the value of their donation
• Be detail oriented all day, every day to ensure that the blood you collect meets regulatory requirements and can be safely transfused
• Stay flexible to work a highly variable schedule that includes early start times, late end times, and weekends & holidays to meet the needs of our blood drive sponsors and donors.
• Take care of your team members – show up for every shift and give 100% while you’re here.
• Contribute to a friendly and fun environment for donors and co-workers alike – give them a reason to come back for more.
• Be a model of professionalism and compassion while serving as an ambassador to the public for the nation’s largest not-for-profit blood banking organization
• Demonstrate your leadership potential by becoming a “go-to” person for team supervisors, on the job trainers & new employees.

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required.Medical assistant or phlebotomy training preferred. Documented satisfactory performance as Collections Technician I or the equivalent experience is required. Customer service experience, effective verbal communication, and public relations skills are required.A current valid driver's license and good driving record is required.Basic computer skills desirable.
