Job Description:
Dematic has an immediate need for a Technical Training Specialist at our Grand Rapids, MI headquarters. This Instructional Design role will include analyzing training needs, developing curriculum, designing training programs, and developing various learning materials. Delivery modes will be eLearning, instructor led, virtual instructor led, and a blend of these modes. The best candidate will be passionate about developing training content and performance support materials for learners who need the appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities to design and use Dematic products and systems. This person will collaborate with developers to establish the most optimal user-interface and learner experience for web and mobile delivery.
* Five years of experience designing, developing, and delivering technical training programs and curriculum, including strong experience with eLearning.
* Degree in Instructional Design, or closely related field, master’s degree preferred.
* Proven track record of creating well-designed storyboarding for eLearning.
* Technical education and experience, particularly with electrical/controls products.
* Strong communication skills and extensive experience working with technical subject matter experts.
* Familiarity with material handling systems deployment in a manufacturing/warehouse environment is preferred.
* Excellent organization and project management skills to lead the team in meeting training goals
Ability to convert raw content from SMEs into the narrative and screen concepts based on objectives before handing it over to the programmer.
* Familiarity with eLearning programming tools a plus.
* Exceptional English speaking and writing skills.
* Able to build engaging eLearning solutions and develop interactive videos and other visual designs using company brand guidelines to ensure consistency across all learning resources.
* Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new technology and industry standards.
* Ability to balance and manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously in a constantly changing environment.

Job Family Responsibilities:
Conducts complex individual and group technical training courses and activities for employees and customers. Monitors the effectiveness of course materials, reviews feedback, and modifies/revises course materials as instructed. Completes the development of new course materials Maintains comprehensive knowledge on the application, installation, and operation of all assigned products, processes, tools and services. May identify, evaluate and obtain training programs and materials from external vendors.
