Job Description:
Dematic is currently seeking a Mechanical Systems Engineer that possesses a strong working knowledge of past and current applications. The primary role is to identify obsolete components or systems within all current Dematic or non-Dematic installations and provide creative solutions for upgrade opportunities and improvements. The result of which will in turn help generate new Customer Service business opportunities.
The role will require coordination between other Dematic departments including Product Development, Application Engineering, Quality, Sales, Estimating, etc. Additionally, there will be a requirement to consult with clients and investigate their operational concerns. The end goal is to identify solutions that could be rolled out across multiple customer facilities.
The individual will be an exclusive member of a small team of multi-disciplinary engineers within the Customer Service Modernization Team that will work together to identify potential opportunities in addition to identifying functional solutions, generating pricing models, and completing all required designs.
To become an ACE you must be a self-starter, organized, be interpersonal and have the necessary people skills to harness support and liaise effectively with resources across the company and customers.
A fall back role is to support the Mechanical Engineering Team within the CS Modernizations group which would include design and engineering of various small to mid-sized retrofit projects. Examples include upgrades to obsolete conveyor installations, replacement of conveyor units (spirals, merges etc), Sorter Rebuilds etc.

Performs full range of standard work for the professional field. Refers complex, unusual problems to others. Identifies and resolves more complex problems and applies problem-solving skills in order to deal with most situations.

Direction of Others:
Provide general guidance or train support and/or professional staff. Directs engineers while on site.
