- Responsible for CAE analysis and optimization of chassis (steering, suspension and brake) structural performance, under department manager’s supervision.
- Using various CAE tools, perform FEA of chassis system structural components using linear as well as non-linear methods to establish design status with respect to strength, stiffness and fatigue life. Must possess strong background in developing vehicle chassis structures and component designs, advise design engineers on optimal solution to meet design targets. Should be familiar with accepted industry practices and standards used in chassis structural design analysis and testing.
- Evaluate fatigue damage of component designs, develop corresponding physical bench tests, which accurately replicate vehicle durability duty cycle accumulated damage, for design and manufacturing validation of chassis structures intended for mass production.
- Use test data to establish highly correlated models, display sound engineering principles with strong grasp of CAE tools in developing optimal design as well as alternative solutions. Document analysis with clear, concise reporting of fact-based results, conclusions and recommendations.
