Our Plymouth, MI customer is seeking an experienced Systems Engineering, Intelligent Vehicle Engineer for a direct hire at a very competitive, high 5 to low/mid/high 6 figure salary (depending on experience).
Will consider TN Visa's, and H1B transfers as long as they have a minimum of 3 years' of hands-on experience (preferably automotive OEM; not university/college level knowledge); may consider OPT candidates with REAL WORLD experience. Will NOT consider fresh-out graduates, entry-level or candidates with less than 3 years' experience. Must be able to relocate to Michigan; remote offices are NOT available.

Ideal Systems Engineer will provide individual technical contribution and systems engineering leadership in the development of advanced driver assist and autonomous vehicle systems including providing system concept definition, system requirements development and analysis, new technology assessments, evaluation of alternative technical solutions, system integration and test. The individual will also support engineering project teams in the preparation of engineering inputs, cost estimates and schedules for proposals.
Responsibilities (but not limited to the following):
- Develop system engineering parameters
- Identify system challenges and risks
- Develop interface standards and specifications
- Develop system architecture
- Responsible for the production of project documentation
- Assist with project management, risk management, and system design
- Concept development, system trade-off analysis, requirements definition and flow down, system integration and test, and evaluation of system performance at both the component and system level.
- Analytical skills should be complimented by a demonstrated ability to plan and lead system engineering activities.
- The individual must be able to utilize and maintain existing analytical models, develop new models, design tests, and validate performance simulations.
- The position will interface with internal and external project teams, company personnel. Individual will need to work collaboratively with company engineers in Plymouth, China, UK and abroad to develop the identified work products.

Requirements:
- 4 year degree in engineering or above is required
- At least 3 years’ experience in systems engineering
- Knowledge of DOORS or other Systems Engineering tools
- Understanding of standard analytical tools e.g. Matlab, Simulink
- Understanding of functional safety ISO26262
- Microsoft Office.
- Wants auto enthusiasts must love cars and fixing them.
- Must be able to travel domestically and internationally (about 2x p/year to China for 2 weeks at a time); less than 20%.
- Must be able to work off-hours to have conferences with China HQ.
