About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Project Estimator/Scheduler to support our clients project management teams by developing, monitoring, and maintaining accurate project estimates and integrated schedules. This role ensures that projects are executed efficiently, on time, and within budget by applying proven project control methods, tools, and standards.
This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives on analyzing data, building project schedules, and collaborating across functions to drive project success.
This is a on- site, contract position. Qualified candidates would be in commuting distance to Detroit, MI.
Key Responsibilities
- Support project teams in developing comprehensive project plans and translating those into accurate estimates and schedules.
- Develop and analyze project estimates or schedules, including CPM implementation, time impact, delay analysis, and schedule updates.
- Maintain the accuracy and credibility of all estimating and scheduling information.
- Assist with the preparation of project time and/or cost claims.
- Document project history, estimate/schedule data, and lessons learned.
- Apply industry methodologies, standards, and tools for estimating, planning, and scheduling.
- Ensure that project controls for estimating and scheduling are effectively implemented and maintained.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives through benchmarking and professional development within estimating/scheduling organizations.
Scheduling Specific Duties:
- Develop and maintain master and detailed schedules, including milestones, WBS, resource loading, and cost assignments.
- Monitor progress toward project completion and inform management of variances or potential risks.
- Prepare schedule progress reports, trend charts, and forecasts for all significant project activities.
- Analyze critical path changes and develop recovery schedules as needed.
Qualifications
Education & Experience (One of the following):
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business, or related field and 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Associate degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Accounting, Math, or related field and 5+ years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Scheduler: 2+ years of experience with Primavera P6 or similar scheduling software.
- Estimator: 2+ years of construction estimating experience on large projects.
- Strong knowledge of design, construction, and program scheduling, cost/resource loading, and schedule risk analysis (e.g., Monte Carlo).
- Working knowledge of project and risk management, financial analysis, and cost control.
