Our Troy, MI customer is seeking (2) Sales Engineers (#1 with 2 years’ engineering exp.; and #2 with 3-5 years of exp.) for a direct hire position. Salaried position, plus year-end profitability bonus (no commission). Reports to the Sales Engineering Manager. NO SPONSORSHIP. Will relocate.
POSITION SUMMARY: Position requires a person who is “sales driven” and possesses strong engineering and technical skills. Responsible for expanding sales with existing customers and developing new business opportunities by matching the Company’s motor models with customer applications. Involves sales, applications engineering, customer service and technical support activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain close sales and engineering contacts with customer purchasing and/or engineering through frequent visits and follow-up meetings.
- Manage existing customer accounts and pursue new business opportunities in order to increase sales.
- Document and maintain detailed customer program information.
- Develop files, sales records/projections and market data for internal communication.
- Determine industry and market needs and developments and make recommendations for sale of the Company’s motors.
- This position may involve some Quality Claims handling with customers and coordination with Headquarters in Japan.
REQUIREMENTS:
· BSME/BSEE is highly preferred, but will consider an Engineering Degree OR a Business Degree with technical sales experience (not necessarily in AC or DC Motors as a lot of on-the-job training is provided regarding their products)
· #1 Position: Minimum of 2 years’ of engineering experience is required; not necessarily in Sales Engineering/Account Management, however, a personable and dynamic candidate, that has a sincere interest in sales, can be trained by the company. No recent graduates/fresh-out’s will be considered. #2 Position: Minimum of 3-5 years’ of sales engineering experience is required
- DC Motor experience is a huge plus.
- Someone with Japanese and/or Spanish language skills is also a huge plus.
- This position requires professionalism and strong ethical standards in a professional office environment.
- Requires frequent travel (up to approximately 25%) in North and South America, and to Asia or other regions.
