POSITION SUMMARY
Performs a variety of tasks in relation to the identification, preparation, sampling, painting, repairing, draining,
tracking, dismantling and conversion of electrical transformers, switches, padmounts, capacitor assembles
according to customer specifications. Dismantles streetlight material when required. May be required to work at
Warren Service Center G-103 and Trombly Service Center to process rubber goods and shear cable and other
general labor services.
EDUCATION: High school diploma preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Six (6) months experience in a light industrial environment. One year fort lifting experience.
KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:
1. Ability to follow multiple instruction; verbal or written.
2. Ability to use visual or other types of job aids.
3. Ability to use various hand tools.
4. Ability to acquire Hi-Lo license within 90 days of hire.
5. Ability to operate rubber good processing equipment within 90
days of hire.
6. Ability to work with minimal organization supervision.
7. Ability to pass Detroit Edison basic electric and burning/cutting
class when provided.
8. Must have basic math and reading skills.
9. Must be able to lift more than 25 pounds.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to stand for long period of time. Lifting, bending,
squatting and standing.
MENTAL DEMANDS: Must be able to deal effectively with multiple assignments and time
restraints. Must maintain positive attitude.
MACHINES/EQUIPMENT: Various hand and power tools, vacuum equipment, drum
turning/crushing equipment, industrial lift truck, hydraulic cutter,
cable shears, small conveyors, painting equipment and electric
hoist.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Light industrial environment.
OTHER: Alternate work location. Must be to adapt to seasonal weather
conditions and work in inclement weather.

Position Duties:
1. Identify, transport, set-up, test, repair, dispose, mix paint and remove rubber goods and scrap cable reels per customer specifications.
2. Operate equipment to off site area leader’s requirements.
3. Locates and identifies stock/materials as needed.
4. Conducts counts and records as required.
5. Affixes stickers and labels to required material or clean containers.
6. Empty and/or crush containers.
7. Dump scrap disposal hoppers when filled.
8. Stages materials in designated areas as required.
9. Repair, prepare and converts transforms and capacitors in accordance with Detroit Edison specification and for electrical testing.
10. Sample label and process all oil filled equipment samples. Submit samples to the laboratory as required.
11. Record serial numbers, tracking numbers as determined by customer area facilitator for proper inventory control and identification.
12. Report any unsafe or suspected condition to supervisor.
13. Conforms to all applicable organization and Detroit Edison policies.
14. Performs other duties as assigned.
