Our Farmington Hills, MI customer is seeking (2) experienced Engineering Coordinators/Project Engineers for a direct hire positions at a salary range of $70,000-$80,000. Will report directly to the Engineering Manager. The customer prefers not to consider OPT or candidates needing sponsorship.
Summary: The PM serves as a liaison between the customer, Engineering, and Manufacturing. FYI: This is NOT a true Project Engineer position. The candidate WILL NOT be entirely responsible for budgets, engineers, and control of the processes/projects, but will be handling more coordination and tracking of the project. To coordinate with engineering design team in development projects throughout the entire cycle from initial concept through successful completion.
Responsibilities:
- Single point of contact between the customer and the project execution team
- Prepare all documents for project kick-off and handover project to the execution team
- Generate project timelines for submission to the customer
- Generate and monitor project budgets
- Provide regular updates to the customer on the progress of the project
- Prepare necessary documentation, material, reports, etc. for customer engineering meetings
- Utilize SAP to release projects, input and track costs, track shipping data, and track PO’s for the tools, chucks, chip conveyors, etc. that are added to the machine at the company’s facility.
- Develop and maintain open issues list for customer engineering meetings
- Prepare meeting minutes for all mechanical engineering and validation meetings with the customer
- Gain in-depth understanding of customer requirements/requests to give clear and concrete instructions to the project execution team
- Attend project related meetings with the customer
- Support customer APQP, PPAP requirements
- Provide engineering support for manufacturing
- Assist the manufacturing team to get a machine acceptance from the customer
- Provide support to the customer for successful onsite installation
- Prepare technical documents for all mechanical issues as required such as DFMEA, FTA, etc.
- Assist accounting in preparing invoices and final payment collection
Requirements:
- BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Must have exposure in either machining and/or tooling to qualify. Technical knowledge/experience is needed to assist customers with machine build projects.
- Basic knowledge of machine tools, manufacturing processes & cutting tools
- Basic knowledge of ISO 14001 and familiarity with the company’s ISO 14001 Environmental Handbook
- AutoCAD experience with knowledge of GD&T tolerances is highly preferred
- Intermediate skills in Word, Excel, Power Point
- SAP experience is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in English language skills (German language skills a plus)

Short-term travel mostly to the Midwest and Canada.
