The IT Test Lead will be responsible for the test planning, facilitating, communicating and monitoring testing related activities primarily for the SAP releases. The IT Test Lead will ensure all testing activities are occurring on time per the master schedule and expedite defect resolution by working with functional business teams, development teams, and infrastructure teams to identify and confirm defect status, updates and root cause. The IT Test Lead will also ensure adherence to testing processes and guidelines including proper use of testing tools with a large disperse stakeholder audience. This role will assist the IT QA/Test Manager in defining test approach and test planning as well as providing leadership during the development of test scripts, test data set-up, test execution planning, defect management and metric reporting to stakeholders.
Specific Duties:
Support building and rolling out effective test processes to meet quality goals set by the IT Quality Assurance/Test Team.
Develop detailed test plans for each level and type of test to validate end-to-end business processes.
Identify and communicate activities, required skills, and estimates for testing work plans that cover all phases of the testing lifecycle including test strategy, test preparation, test data management, test planning, test execution, and metrics tracking.
Work closely with testing personnel to understand status and help remove obstacles enabling adherence to the project schedule for test planning, test preparation, test execution and reporting.
Conduct and document testing impact assessments for project change requests.
Enforce application test phase entrance and exit criteria and escalate as needed.
Create test project deliverables and work products including test plans, approaches, scripts, cases, test status reports, and traceability matrices.
Identify, monitor and communicate cross team inter-dependencies impacting test deliverables and work products. Take actions to resolve issues.
Identify, validate, document, and communicate issues and risks affecting test project scope, schedule, cost and quality.
Generate and ensure test correctness of test metrics to be able to report and communicate them to stakeholders.
Support development of manual and automated test scripts for functional, role-based security, integration, user acceptance, regression and performance test scenarios.
Ensure mapping between requirements, test cases, and defects to support traceability.
Execute test cases to support ongoing regression and ITC testing cycles.
Facilitate daily testing stand-up meetings to monitor testing progress, discuss impediments, and track defect status and assist test captains to ensure process is being made and tracked to the timeline.
Train new test captains and testers on roles and responsibilities of the position, testing processes and tools.
Provide testing tool (HPQC) administration task support.
Execute quality audit reviews for transport or other IT related processes to ensure compliance to processes.
Provide day-to-day, occasional after hours and on-call application support as needed.
Ensure confidentiality of sensitive and proprietary information; adhere to company security policies.
Develop risk mitigation plans and support testing risk/issue resolution.
Support pre and post go-live release activities including ongoing application support.
Requirements
High School Diploma/Equivalent
At least 2 years of Software Quality Assurance experience
At least 2 years of experience working with HP Quality Center or similar test management tool
At least 2 years of leading manual software test processes including defect management
Strong SDLC knowledge
Knowledge of automated and manual software test processes
Experience in using Microsoft Office products: Office, Visio, PowerPoint and Excel
Experience with SharePoint
Experience with an online Web conferencing tool
Strong coordination skills
Strong communication and presentation skills
Strong orientation towards customer service and satisfaction
Strong attention to detail
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
Additional work hours as required, including weekends
Ability to travel up to 5% of the time domestically
Requires a valid driver’s license and favorable motor vehicle report
Preferred Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Prefer at least 1 year of experience supporting ERP software testing projects, such as SAP
Prefer working knowledge of at least 1 ERP business process in FIN, HCM, OTC, PTP or SCM
Prefer experience specifying and managing test environment configurations
Prefer Excel skills including Excel macros, pivot tables and charting features
Prefer experience in project management
