Department Summary
The Field Safety Consultant is a part of the Corporate Safety department. The Field Safety Consultant team provides
valuable support to the field operations to enable them to create customer value through safe and excellent
operations.
Job Description/Responsibilities
The Field Safety Consultant is responsible for:
Completing crew visits, rubber goods audits, lock out/tag out audits and vehicle inspections within established region
Completing noise monitoring and STS follow up as assigned
Alerting those performing unsafe actions and stop the job when required
Supporting the safety culture initiative by providing safety guidance to local safety teams
Assisting leadership with incident investigation procedures and associated reports
Answering questions from employees and leadership regarding safety rules and communications
Supporting Energy Operations and Corporate Safety projects
The selected candidate will be located in the Northern area - Saginaw being the preferred location.
Requirements/Qualifications
The successful candidate will have:
A Bachelor's degree in an Occupational Safety and Health discipline
Safety and health expertise
MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
A self-starter mentality that can manage multiple work assignments
The ability to work in team settings and independently to meet team objectives
A proven track record of leadership, analytical, decision making, problem-solving and multitasking abilities.

Database experience
Project management
Energy industry (utility) related experience
This position will be filled at the level commensurate with the selected candidate's skills and education using the Safety
Consultant Job Family (Safety Administrator I through SR Field Safety Consultant II).
Essential Functions:
May compile OSHA mandated accident and incident information for inclusion in various management reports. General
filing associated with the ongoing maintenance of safety & compliance records. May respond to vendor, customer, and
government agency requests, audits or compliance complaints or issues. Maintains files and handles the Company's
processes to ensure operations of facilities within various state and federal regulations Recommends proposed changes
and enhancements to processes for safer operation. Conducts regular safety and health inspections to examine practices
for adherence to policies and procedures. Must be able to maintain high level of confidentiality.
Hours and Travel:
This position requires the individual work 40 hours per week. Time will be spent in the office, headquarters or specific
field locations. This position will require the ability to travel between field locations. This position may include nights and
weekend/holiday timeframes.
