About the Role
The Instrument Testing Technician performs testing, calibration, and quality control on lubricant analysis instruments, troubleshoots issues, ensures compliance with standards, and supports process improvements, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration to achieve manufacturing and quality goals.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manages incoming and outgoing instruments in the quality control database.
- Conducts wiring verification on manufactured instruments and provides updates for
- Configures computers for instrumentation software.
- Evaluates instrument operations based on expected functionality
- Interprets test results based on pass/fail criteria and troubleshoots certification concerns
- Controls Work Instruction updates for instrument certification.
- Prepare certification documents for final quality assurance process.
- Function test components for customer orders.
- Maintains the organization of the Testing and Certification laboratory including tools, consumables, and supplies.
- Promotes safety and good housekeeping practices in the laboratory for assigned test areas including timely clean-up of test areas and apparatus, sample, and reference fluid management, maintaining adequate chemical/test material stock levels, and follow documented safe operational procedures.
- Troubleshoot problem areas associated with the systems and offer resolutions.
- Inspects incoming and outgoing instrumentation, parts and components.
- Assists with testing reference oils for certification and communication results.
- Understanding of all Tannas and King Instruments.
- Supports technical services with creating specific task procedures for customers and distributors.
- Assists Technical Development with calibration procedure with new instrumentation.
- Works with leadership to identify and pursue professional growth opportunities.
- Assists technical support team by responding to customer emails.
- Training Lead for new employees. Creates unique training schedules and gathers training documentation.
Skills & Experience:
- Associate’s degree in electrical, mechanical or electronics, computer science or related field preferred.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in a technical/quality environment, with strong mechanical expertise required. At least one year’s experience in a laboratory environment preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of pneumatic, mechanical, high, and low AC voltage, to include solid state and electronic applications.
- Knowledge of and familiarity with electronics, tooling, machining, and computers.
- Soldering, brazing, and welding experience.
- Experience using a table saw and hand/power tools.
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and follow work instructions guidelines.
- Sharp attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good problem-solving and data analysis skills.
- Self-starter, strong work ethics with the ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organization, facilitation, and project management skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize activities efficiently.
