The primary purpose of this position is to analyze and coordinate all logistical functions including acquisition, distribution, internal allocation, delivery and final disposition of product/resources.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Creating shipping paperwork; supplies and ensures all certificates and test reports accompany shipment.
- Coordinate all documents (Bill of Lading., packing slips and invoices) for shipment to customer
- Responsible for tracking/processing all documents required for shipment to customers/suppliers.
- Negotiate pricing on shipping costs with common carriers.
- Make contracts with carriers for shipments.
- Creation of charts for incoming and outgoing material.
- Verify and report inventory quantities as needed.
- Coordinate all paperwork necessary to international shipments
- Use of EDI/ASN to verify customer requirements
- Report any shipping issues/delays to customer and Manufacturing Director
- Organization and tracking of all incoming goods:: materials, chemicals, supplies
- Responsible for updating/revising work instructions relative to the Quality Management System
- Organize production parts within the system: raw and finished parts
- Check delivery dates and inform supplier if items are not delivered timely
- Participate in the assessment and review of design alternatives/change impacts
- Ensure incoming trucks are processed in order of arrival.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

Job requirements:
- Associates degree or equivalent from two year college or technical school.
- One to three years’ experience in shipping department, preferably in a manufacturing company.
- Must possess working knowledge of all Microsoft Office and SAP application
- Must have working knowledge of customer communication systems (COVISINT)
- Ability to function in a team based environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated with ability to work under minimal supervision
