POSITION SUMMARY:
The Process Designer is responsible for determining the operations to produce products and develop processes to ensure quality, cost and verify efficiency requirements are met using General Motors Software (SDP, XRWD, STDS and Process Designer Software).
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
Evaluate product and create operation systems for the manufacturing of products
Create/edit/maintain necessary process documentation
Monitor and improve the efficiency, output and safety of processes through observations and measurements as well as by collecting and interpreting data from other technical and operation personnel
Review process for material savings, scrap reduction, material handling reduction and efficiency improvements
Develop new production methods using engineering fundamentals
Develop plant layout to improve process flow and minimize material handling
Conduct capacity studies
Perform all other duties, as assigned
Required Profile:
7 year’s work related experience
Knowledge of General Motors Processing Standards
Expert in GM SDP (Sequence Development Program) Software
Expert in GM XRWD (Request for Wiring Diagram) Software
Expert in GM STDS (Standard Time Date Sheet) Software
Expert in GM Process Designer Software
Industrial Process related experience
Self-motivated and hands on approach
Familiar with Mig weld and Spot weld processes
Ability to react quickly to changing requirements and new processing developments
Follow written/verbal instructions and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
Knowledge of Unigraphics & Auto Cad systems
Microsoft Office, Windows
Must have working command of the English language
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering field or equivalent experience
Experience:
7 year’s work related experience
