Oakland County customer is seeking (2) experienced Capital Equipment Account Manager (Sales) for a direct hire positions at a salary range of $70,000-$85,000 plus commission, mileage reimbursement, expense reimbursement, bonus structure, and a great benefit package.
DEFINITION (POSITION PURPOSE)
The position involves the acquiring of new accounts, development and management of key accounts, forecasting and reporting, direct sales of company products and systems with specific price and profit margin.
MAJOR FUNCTIONS & DUTIES
- Evaluation of customer production methods and robotic needs.
- Evaluation of robotic automation and preparation of concept solution.
- Preparation of proposals. Preparation of rough cost estimates.
- Prepare and present presentations to customers to obtain orders.
- Justify solutions (pros and cons) to the customer. Provide cost savings and benefits.
- Planning, scheduling and execution of the plan for obtaining new accounts.
- Continually upgrade and maintain knowledge of robot products, systems and their implementations including competitors' products.
- Must be willing and able to travel up to 60% and remain standing for extended durations during trade shows.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITY AND AUTHORITY
- Prepare creative advertisement, attend trade shows and demonstrate company robot products to the customers.
- Research and identify new accounts for company robot products and systems.
- Conveying positive company product/system image to the customers.
- Creating and maintaining long term relationship with the customers.
- Estimate and forecast potential robot and system sales annually.
- Identify product and/or system strengths, weaknesses, and competitive positioning to win customer confidence.
- All inter departmental interface for the sales activities.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with the customers.
- All reporting of sales activities to management.
- Has authority to plan all sales activities for the established accounts within the company guidelines .
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Accountable for acquiring new customers and managing existing customer accounts.
- Accountable for the projected sales of robot quantities and system dollar volume.
- Assisting with customer collections as needed.
- Increasing company business level.
REQUIRED SKILLS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- · Minimum of a related Technical Degree may consider an Associates’ Degree, but strongly prefers a Bachelors.
- · Ideally 3 - 5 years’ (Max of 8 years’ of experience) of demonstrated sales success in robotic systems, industrial automation of very similar sales is a MUST. The customer will NOT consider automotive sector experience at all - this position does not sell to the automotive sector at any time.
- · Must be high energy, passionate and highly motivated to take charge of all the necessary sales activities to develop, grow and increase sales volume.
- · This is a hands-on position, not a sales manager, but a hunter position and the job holder should expect to build a full sales pipeline. Strong "hands on" sales experience is required including the technical ability to work closely with internal and external system engineering personnel.
- · Excellent communications and interpersonal skills to deal with customers, vendors and internal personnel.
- Must be computer literate and be familiar with and be able to use CRM and office software.
- Must be motivated by high commission levels - Base salary no more than $85k and must be hungry to earn commission on robot units and automation systems, plus volume $ bonuses
- A lot of travel is required.
- Must understand automation systems fully, and be able to sell the ROI to customer
- Must be able to spot potential/future add-on automation systems sales opportunities, and sell concept of automation to engineering/purchasing/ finance executives.
