Daytime Custodian
52 Week Position - 8 hours per day
Portage Custodial/Maintenance Association
Job Summary: Complete custodial work duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager and Building Principal.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Clean and dust rooms, corridors, stairways, and furniture/equipment.
- Opens and/or closes building each day; responsible for building security.
- Keeps grounds free of litter and performs such grounds duties as necessary to maintain school grounds in a safe and attractive condition.
- Reports needed repairs to Head Custodian.
- Makes minor building/equipment repairs as capable.
- May need to cover for other custodians at other location as needed.
- Prepare facilities for school and community functions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Regular and consistent attendance.
- Must have knowledge of and comply with the policies and procedures contained in the Portage Public Schools Employee Handbook.

Qualifications:
- High School diploma, GED, High School equivalent or equivalent education and experience.
- Demonstrated aptitude for custodial duties, cleaning, and minor repair.
- Demonstrate ability to operate cleaning machinery and equipment.
- Requires cooperative attitude with staff.
- Requires minimum supervision.
- Excellent work ethic and attendance.
