The Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer reports to the Chief Financial Officer and is responsible for directing the accounting, reporting and external control finance functions for the global operations of the company. This role is responsible for all SEC reporting, developing, recommending and implementing accounting policies and procedures in accordance with GAAP. This is a leadership role with staff supervisory responsibilities.Oversee the activities of the Corporate Accounting Department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements, and annual audits and annual budgets. Responsible for all SEC Reporting in conjunction with legal, as appropriate (10-K, 10-2, 8-K). Responsible for interfacing and coordinating with internal and external audit functions. Responsible for developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures for U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements. Responsible for developing and implementing appropriate internal control systems and procedures and achieving SOX compliance. Evaluate and maintain internal controls to ensure accurate reporting and the safeguard of company assets. Establish and maintain systems and controls which verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data, and enhance the Company's value.Monitor and approve spending activity of the company within the established control processes including budgets and limits of authority.Responsible for the filing of quarterly and annual reports with the Securities and Exchange Commission.Review monthly accounting close process including analytical review of the monthly operating results to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained. Prepares reports required by regulatory agencies and responds to their inquiries. Preparation of insightful analyses in support of decision making. Develops strategic planning system and financial models. Directs the collection of supporting data and key assumptions. Plans and implements initiatives necessary to execute organization strategies and participates in developing organization goals. Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data. REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance plus CPA certification required.Master's of Science in Accountancy preferred.
EXPERIENCE:10-15 years combined hands-on accounting experience with U.S. GAAP accounting and SEC reporting requirements, with at least 5 years experience with a Big Four accounting firm and at least 8 years managerial accounting experience.Demonstrated strong leadership, collaboration, project management, problem-solving, change management and influencing skills. Superior analytical skills to identify problems, research issues and develop workable solutions. Strong project management and organizational skills to effectively multitask and utilize internal and external resources. Exceptional proven leadership skills with prior experience in developing staff and fostering a positive team environment. Experience working in global business environment. Must be flexible with the ability to change, adapt and grow - patience and diplomacy skills are critical to success, particularly with customers.
