Job Summary:
Division wide responsibility to establish strategic direction for all Division related collection departments to ensure
execution of assigned collection initiatives, regulatory/quality improvement initiatives and process improvement
initiatives. Build business processes for system-wide implementation, achieving standardized implementation,
cost reduction and improved donor experience.
Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures, Safety Quality Identity
Potency Purity (SQUIPP), regulations outlined in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Occupational Safety
and Health Administration (OSHA) and other applicable Federal, state and local regulations.
Responsibilities:
Represents the Division on Process Council or other teams established to evaluate and approve standard processes for Whole Blood and Apheresis Collections.Oversees the implementation of approved standard processes, to include applications for Hemasphere, and standard staffing matrix as they relate to Collections scheduling and logisitics planning.Coordinates Division collections capacity planning to meet Whole Blood and Apheresis growth goals, in collaboration with regional leadership.Monitors performance metrics and assists with any corrective action “plans” required to meet assigned targets for Whole Blood and Apheresis.Tracks productivity indicators used to optimize cost per unit collected (CPUC), to include staffing capacity and adherence to staffing matrix. Assists DVP/CEOs with any required actions to assure continuous productivity improvement. Collaborate with BHQ to assure standardization, compliance and process improvement.Tracks device utilization and recommends movement or new devices as required to optimize use of assets and performance (e.g., Double Red Cell, Apheresis or handheld devices).Supervises any Collections “back office” support function to be consolidate as Division standard structure, that would assure lowest cost solution and improve consistency (such as special donations scheduling department).

Scope
Division wide responsibility for the strategic direction of assigned Division collection department functions and
related process improvement initiatives. In addition, responsible for working with other Program Directors,
Process and Planning in root cause analysis and problem solving for all regional collections operations company
wide.
Accountable for engineering a streamlined and low cost work flow, improved donor experience, developing tools
to reduce probability of errors, maximizing allocation of available resources to include staff and equipment.
Plan own work and set priorities for department. Actions and decisions based on very broad precedent,
discretion and judgment. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business management, communications, nursing or equivalent combination of education and related experience required. Master's degree preferred. Minimum seven years related operations management experience in re-engineering efforts, process improvement, quality and process control or equivalent, including five years of department and supervisory experience required.
