This is a facility maintenance position requiring both mechanical and industrial electrical skillset. In addition to maintenance duties listed below, this position will support the facility and maintenance department with electrical repairs and projects.
PRIMARY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist Maintenance A employees with plant and facilities maintenance and repairs.
- Responsible for the general upkeep of the building including changing light bulbs, cleaning carpet, etc.
- Perform preventative maintenance as scheduled.
- Perform routine checks and adjustments of equipment to ensure OSHA compliance.
- Perform daily tasks such as scrap lumber disposal, outfall checks; and with weekly tasks such as insurance inspection and record keeping, water meter reading and record keeping.
- Able to perform seasonal duties such as miscellaneous yard work and sprinkling during the summer and snow removal and salting during the winter.
- Willing and able to perform special tasks such as cleaning, painting, carpenter projects, plumbing, and drain repairs.
- Repair and adjust small machines, e.g. drill presses, bench power and hand tools to involve replacement of bearings, spindles, electrical switches, etc.
SECONDARY DUTIES:
- Pick up by hand and dump 55 gallon trash container into dumpster.
- Clean rest rooms if the regular custodian is not available.
- Pick up paper and other trash accumulating on the property as directed.
- Sweep and clean work areas as directed.
WORK DEMANDS:
- Able to work from drawings, sketches, and verbal instructions.
- Able to read, comprehend, and follow written instructions.
- Willing and able to obtain a hi-lo license.
- Able to lift and move materials weighing up to 60 lb.
- Able to perform body movements and physical coordination consistent with a variety of processes, such as bending, leaning, sitting, lying, standing, climbing, arm bending, and extension, finger and hand control over small to medium size parts.
- Willing and able to work in confined spaces.
- Willing and able to climb ladders and work at heights up to 30 feet.
- Must be able to effectively communicate between other departments and customers.
- Ability to work without close supervision.
- Willing and able to work extended workdays, flexible hours, and weekends to meet production demands.
