Are you an Operations Manager looking for a dynamic and growing organization to join? We may have the position for you! The Operations Manager will be responsible for managing a two shift injection molding operation consisting of approximately eight molding machines and fifteen employees. Primary duties include, but are not limited to: insuring daily production schedule is adhered to, managing and directing key operational personnel, preparation and management of required materials, and adherence to plant safety, operator training and time reporting in accordance with company policies. The Operations Manager position will report directly to the General Manager and will be part of the management team empowered to lead and grow the business. The molding operations primary offerings are tool development tryouts for the company’s mold tooling manufacturing operation, and Tier-II automotive production molding. This position is located at our Livonia, MI facility.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or operations management or 10 years of progressive manufacturing experience in an injection molding operation
Demonstrated technical experience in injection molding including mold setting, machine operation and plastics process optimization
Strong knowledge of automotive plastic materials and their processing characteristics
Minimum 5 years' experience of direct supervision in a manufacturing environment
Demonstrated knowledge of operational safety requirements, specific to an injection molding operation
Proficient computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
The Operations Manager must be organized, self-motivated, and work well both independently and in a team environment
Adaptable and works well in an environment of frequent change
Willing and able to work overtime and/or weekends as needed as an Operations Manager
