DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Implementation and continual improvement of the phased gate review process for Customer Program Development (CPD) projects, development projects, and other types of internal projects to ensure the Lighting Business Unit delivers its projects and programs in accordance with well-defined goals (performance, timing, quality, and cost). For customer specific application projects, this person will directly manage global programs, multi-product programs, and other projects/programs as determined by the management team. The Program Manager may also oversee a portfolio of projects based on a product line.
Knowledge and experience in Project Management methodologies.
Ability to plan and manage complex projects crossing over many departmental lines
Good problem solving skills with working knowledge of FM-TIPS. Able to use other root cause analyses such as Fault Tree Analysis, Ishikawa Diagrams, etc.)
Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement and Lean Business Processes
Effective communication skills, written and oral, to all levels of the organization (within F-M, customers, and suppliers)
Working knowledge of computers and software, with the capability to thoroughly learn new applications
Working knowledge of Federal-Mogul business processes and systems such as RFQ's, Sample Requests, New Item Releases, Engineering Changes is preferred
Promote a disciplined approach to project management using a phased gate review process throughout the organization
Work to continually improve the Lighting BU gate review process
Work closely with Sales, Engineering, Purchasing and Operations to create team accountability for projects
Work closely with Project Leaders and Launch Coordinators/Managers at F-M manufacturing facilities and coordinate manufacturing requirements between customer manufacturing facilities and those of Federal-Mogul with respect to specific program needs
Responsible for setting and driving the BU to meet program targets
Monitor the performance of project teams through the use of agreed upon metrics
Work directly with customers and suppliers as needed on specific programs
Coordinate or conduct Project Gate Reviews
Monitor the performance of project teams through the use of agreed upon metrics

Escalate visibility of at-risk projects/programs
Ensure resource management for projects quoted and sourced
Provide first line of support for project management system users
REQUIREMENTS:
BS Engineering, Professional Program Management Certification, or equivalent experience
5-6 years of technical and/or project management experience
