DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manufacturing Engineer - Body Construction Engineering - 19354BR
Position Duties:
* Provide manufacturing leadership from vehicle and tooling design and development through launch of a new model program.
* Evaluate manufacturing feasibility using CAD tools to evaluate joint design, flange lengths, weld gun access, design gaps and clearances.
* Lead assembly tooling strategies, bid package, procurement, supplier management, design and build, installation and prove out at the assembly site.
* Provide mechanical equipment direction for safety, maintenance and production consideration.
* Provide process and mechanical design direction and follow up.
* Perform tool buy-off and debug of tools to support maintenance and production.
* Support new model launches on site at assembly plants (Canada, Mexico, US) for extended periods of time. During launches the position will require extensive standing and walking in a plant environment.
