PRIMARY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Able to learn by watching other custom products team members and doing hands on applications.
•Willing and able to provide ongoing communication with engineering, marketing, and purchasing to recommend and perform design changes.
•Able to document notes to other departments regarding the systems.
•Make presentations and procedure reports to customers, management, and other departments as required.
•Able to perform advanced tasks in either electrical, welding or refrigeration, either within the test chamber industry or other industries.
•Able to read blueprints and/or schematics to visualize how the job will go together.
•Each apprentice will be training to gain knowledge about the test chamber industry in one or more of the following areas with the aid of the custom products team they are working with:
Electrical:
•Able to obtain, review, and decipher print package.
•Able to analyze parts delivered from the stockroom to determine their appropriateness and those on back order.
•Interpret schematics from print package and design electrical system as necessary.
•Able to build power panel: Obtain panel from sheet metal or stock. Layout components and devices to determine wiring. Drill and tap panel, install devices. Label devices to identify them for customer. Calculate and determine wire size and retrieve from floor stock. Return unused parts to stockroom or floor stock.
•Able to lift and install power panel into box.
•Pull wire Measure and cut wire as needed. Label wire. Tie in wiring to electrical components.
•Mount electrical box door, attach accessories as required.
•Interconnect electrical system between machine section and cabinet.
•Ability to learn and differentiate between required electrical codes.
