The ideal candidate will have Transportation Experience, Recruiting Experience in a Safety or Operational role.
Education / Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Previous Trucking experience / Driver Recruitment experience a plus
- Must have a CDL-A for this position
This individual will be responsible for:
- Recruiting and retaining drivers, local, over the road, specialty and mechanics through the use of a variety of advertising and recruitment tools.
- Post job ads on various job sites
- Handle phone calls from prospective applicants
- Through a telephone interview, online application and extensive background, determine if they have the required experience and qualifications to be successful.
- Informs potential candidates of wages, compensation and benefit program, as well as the nature of job and duties.
- Spearheads new hire orientation program including drug testing and road testing of new hires
- Maintain weekly reports tracking statistical information on the recruiting efforts
- Performance monitoring – policy & procedures, e-logs, fuel economy, idle time etc…
Driver retention:
- Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with drivers
- Follows up with new hires to assure successful transition
- Analyzes and creates reports dealing with recruiting and retention
- Mediates issues such as pay, miles, home time between drivers and managers
