Roushhas an immediate need for a Field Service Engineer/ Automotive Technician with a solid mechanical background and strong customer service skills. The Field Service Engineer/ Automotive Technician would handle a technical hotline and interface with customers on a regular basis. Our ideal applicant will have a strong ability to listen to customers with an emphasis on relating to concerns and providing appropriate and well-timed responses. A qualified Field Service Engineer/ Automotive Technician will also be: well organized, task oriented, able to demonstrate strong follow through, and a strong technical understanding. This position is based in Livonia, Michigan, however we will consider remote candidates as well.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years of experience in the automotive field.
Must have valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Willing to travel up to 75% when needed.
Experience in troubleshooting late-model engine drivability concerns.
Able to demonstrate proficient computer skills and use of MSOffice programs.
Able to prepare written technical reports.
Field Service Engineer/ Automotive Technician must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrate professionalism and interact with all levels of employees and with customers.
Preferred Skills:
Associate degree or other technology degree in related field.
Experience as an electrical mechanic or a dealership mechanic.
Experience with liquid propane gas (LPG) and/or compressed/liquid natural gas (CNG/LNG).
Proficient with OBD scan tools is required. Familiarity with Ford IDS and J2534 devices.
Experience in classroom instruction, presentation skills and hands-on training delivery.
