General Description:
The candidate in this position will be introduced to the Padnos culture and be provided training on a variety of functions within the administrative services department in preparation to fill the next business need; possibly in the Greater Grand Rapids or Holland area. ASR responsibilities for this position require weighing trucks & customers both inbound and outbound, and coordinating the shipping and receiving for scrap material across the scales. Duties include processing transactions for proper payment, monitoring ATM payouts, completing reconciliation reports, and providing excellent customer service. Training opportunities will include a combination of administrative duties, and this role will assist with updating scale transactions in the accounting system, invoicing shipments, applying vendor pricing to receipts, completing accounting research and tracking. Exposure into other areas of administrative services may include assisting with Accounts Payables, Freight Accounting, Railcar processing, and team projects. This candidate actively participates and displays behaviors of the company values. Must have a valid driver’s license.
Essential Duties:
- Weigh trucks in and out, using computer or other scale equipment.
- Communicate, Direct, and Coordinate, all trucks & customers for inbound and outbound material.
- Maintain proper payment procedures and generate supporting reports for cash reconciliation.
- Organize Bills of lading, verifying all shipments before they leave the plant.
- Match up Vendor paperwork with scale receivers and update based on inspection grading.
- Scan supporting scale documents into electronic storage system.
- Accounting Support: update system transactions for invoicing and payment.
- Monitor open transactions, and research into why they are not updated.
- Enforce Padnos process & procedures, and maintain quality documents.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts.
Minimum Requirements:
- Associates degree in Business or related field, or currently taking college courses.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Experience with accounting software preferred.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, and prioritize to maintain customer service levels.
- Flexible in schedule and willing to learn new things.
- Positive attitude with the initiative to seek out areas to provide assistance.
- Customer Service driven with the ability to interact effectively with customers and drivers.
- Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position with or without accommodations.
