Are you a looking for a new opportunity in Packaging? We are looking for you! Roush is looking for an energetic, hard-working Packaging Engineer to join our team. The Packaging Engineer position would be a key part of a Packaging/Supply Chain team that will improve packaging practices by creating work instructions for various operations. An ideal Packaging Engineer will also design packaging and develop prototypes in addition to other leadership responsibilities. This position is located at our Livonia, MI facility
Responsibilities:
Develop work instructions and standard practices for various operations across several departments within Roush.
Coordinate with supervisors on the line side implementation of work instructions.
Develop packaging specifications.
Design packaging and create prototype packaging.
Document flow of packaging material inbound/outbound to ROUSH, within ROUSH, within the supply base, and to the end customer.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Packaging or related degree; recent graduates with co-op experience can be considered; person with associate’s degree acceptable with relevant experience; or non-degreed person with relevant experience.
Experience in OEM packaging specifications and requirements.
Knowledge of packaging design validation and testing requirements.
Knowledge of packaging material properties.
Demonstrate exceptional communication skills as a Packaging Engineer.
Proficient with Microsoft Office and Outlook.
Proficient with Internet software.
Ability to demonstrate use of packaging tools and machines.
Ability to work independently and within a cross functional team environment.
Ability to perform with minimal or no supervision.
Must be willing and able to travel.
Preferred Skills:
Conceptual understanding of SolidWorks or other 2D/3D CAD design software.
Knowledge of material handling procedures and applications.
Packaging and material testing in a lab setting.
Experience in operational, warehousing, or distribution environments.
Ability to learn and operate hi-lo and/or crane machinery as a Packaging Engineer.
Ability to lift up to 65 lbs.
