SUMMARY:
The contract Maintenance Electrician will be responsible for routine and emergency electrical maintenance on machines and equipment, diagnosing the source of problems and potential problems, and maintenance/repairs as needed in a manufacturing environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Diagnoses electrical situations or problems; plans, schedules, and performs preventative maintenance for electrical systems; and makes repairs or improvements to machines and equipment to ensure and maintain clean, safe, and productive work environment
- Installs all facility electrical distribution services, including, but not limited to: transformers; busduct; breaker panels; switch gear; load centers; direct burial lines; overhead wiring; and internal and external lighting, including special design installations, parking lots, and special office effects, using schematics, blueprints, manuals, and color codes to ensure electrical codes are met
- Monitors and maintains all high voltage primary service supplied by utility companies, including wire installation and termination
- Designs and builds electrical control panels; designs and writes programs, operates simulators, installs programmable controllers, troubleshoots, and provides documentation
- Works with and provides direction for maintenance team members in performing preventative maintenance on machines & electrical systems; acts as resource to engineering, contract electrical labor, and management
- Completes appropriate paper work, including, but not limited to: requests for applicable permits in accordance with state and local electrical codes, work requests, and work orders; obtains historical work order information on various systems
QUALIFICATIONS:
- State of Michigan license for electrical work required
- 5 years of electrician experience required; completion of apprentice program preferred
- Experience with AllenBradley PLCs highly preferred
- Ability to obtain and maintain valid power industrial truck operator permit and State of Michigan Driver’s License
- Must have own tool box and electrical hand tools required by craft
