Minimum Requirements
* B.S. in Physics, Mathematics, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or similar fields.
* Candidates should possess a strong interdisciplinary background in science and engineering with solid programming skills.
* Proficiency in multiple contemporary computer programming languages and environments such as C/C , PERL, Python, Java, OpenGL, Matlab
* Experience with algorithms for image processing, simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM), geospatial location, rendering 3D data, computer graphics
Preferred Requirements
* Ph.D. or M.S. in Physics, Mathematics, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or similar fields, is preferred.
* Demonstrated ability to carry out independent work in a team-based environment
* Demonstrated ability to develop large-scale mapping applications
* Experience with established practices regarding route planning and navigation in road networks and atlases
* Proficiency in multiple operating systems such as Linux, UNIX, Windows
* Knowledge of 3D coordinate frames and transformations, vector mathematics, matrix algebra
* Knowledge of Geodesy, geodetic and geocentric coordinate systems, map projections, datums, coordinate system transformations
* Demonstrated ability to carry out independent research and lead projects
* Demonstrated experience in executing a project from inception to finish across multiple disciplines, e.g., dealing with sensor hardware, data acquisition and analysis, mathematical modeling, algorithm development, application implementation, etc.
* Knowledge of technologies such as LIDAR, radar, electro-optical sensors, GPS, IMUs, CAN bus, etc.
* Experience with GIS algorithms and commercial products such as esri ArcInfo or Erdas Imagine
