DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
What We Do:
Our freight brokers (Inside sales) focus on the quickly growing brokerage part of our business and provide transportation solutions to help our customers get their goods across North America in the most cost effective and seamless way. This requires building trusted relationships with customers, listening for and identifying their shipping needs and figuring out the best solution to meet those needs. In addition, our brokers handle the day-to-day challenges that are often presented in the transportation industry and are responsive and quick to adapt
A Senior Freight Broker will:
Execute effective communication and coordination with all internal and external customers
Provide timely/accurate reporting to management, as required
Resolution of circumstances that directly impact carrier service and/or customer satisfaction
Build customer relationships and identify their shipping needs
Qualify and actively develop new customers and business
Knowledge of various pricing models to include TL, LTL, FB
Establish and maintain carrier relationships
Coordinate movements of freight through our extensive carrier network
Shift between operational tasks and sales demands
The Physical Demands and Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and to work on a computer terminal and at a desk for long periods. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, including typing, writing, filing, etc.; reach with hands and arms; and readily and effectively communicate. Vision abilities required by this job include the ability to effectively see within an office environment, which may include long term computer exposure, and to adjust focus accordingly.
The duties of the job are primarily performed in an office environment. There is some exposure to noise in the work environment, which is usually mild to moderate
