Job Details

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Communicates with assigned Test Drivers (Smithers, External Clients or Contract Drivers) to support testing as directed.
• Prepares tire assemblies according to test sheets including mounting and balancing and mounts onto appropriate test vehicle.
• Prepares various test surfaces in accordance with instructions of supervisors to coincide with test instructions (ex. Grooming, Packing, Watering)
• Operates various equipment.
• Fill equipment with fuel or charge (electric vehicles) as needed and record data as needed.
• Performs equipment inspections prior to using any equipment includes checking oil.
• Checks and confirms calibration of applicable equipment (ex. Hand air gauges, balancers).
• Fills out incident reports as needed for any equipment repairs or any other problems that may accrue.
• Cleans and helps maintain garage and equipment as needed.
• Must have good attendance and attitude.
• Must be able to follow directions well.
• Must be able to learn quickly.
• Must follow all safety requirements and procedures.
• Assists other technicians in learning the system.
• Works effectively with others in a collaborative team environment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Schedules and supervise support personnel. Assure all test conditions are recorded accurately.

Education and/or Experience:

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one to three years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates, Licenses and/ or Registrations:

Must have valid driver’s license
