RESPONSIBLE TO:  Director of the Hartley Outdoor Education Center and Murphy Farm.           
 
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

1. USW Union, Food Service Salary Schedule.
2. Pay Rate: $12.37 per hour 
3. One (1) full-time school year position.  (Days worked based on Hartley school year schedule).
4. Approximately:  180 days. 

 
GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION:  Under the direction of the Director of the Hartley Outdoor Education Center, this position will handle a high volume of food orders, and will also ensure that food preparation areas are clean and sanitized at all times. Additionally, you will support the monitoring and ordering of inventory. Success in this role will be demonstrated by serving orders promptly while maintaining compliance with the highest sanitation, safety, and quality standards.
 
DEPARTMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Prepares ingredients beforehand to ease the flow of food preparation during business hours
2. Cleans food preparation areas
3. Fries, grills, and boils ingredients
4. Unpacks and uses sauces and seasonings
5. Ensures compliance with health and safety regulations
6. Routinely checks inventory levels and orders new stocks when needed
7. Manages workflow to determine the prioritization of orders
8. Follow the guidance and direction of Hartley Director and lead Kitchen staff

 
QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Prior experience with relevant tools and industrial cookware is required
2. Minimum 18 years of age
3. Prior on-the-job training experience is preferred
4. Able to stand for extended periods
5. Effective communication skills
6. Strong multi-tasking abilities
7. Able to prepare a wide variety of short order meals
8. High school diploma or equivalent
9. Pass a drug and alcohol screening
