Job Description/Responsibilities
The Enterprise Architect * Cybersecurity has a strategic role and is responsible for leading the development of a 3 to 5 year target state cybersecurity and an executable roadmap structured to best support the business and IT goals. The role is also responsible for developing and maintaining enterprise security standards, policies, practices, and requirements. As a thought leader in his space, the Enterprise Architect * Cybersecurity will understand industry trends, emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, risks and manage new technology introduction to maximize business benefits. The role will also consult on projects to promote alignment with the strategy and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop current state conceptual and logical architecture documentation and keep it up-to-date
- Extend IT and EA architecture principles for the cybersecurity domain
- Lead the development of technology standards and their ongoing revisions
- Develop Consumers Energy research agenda and create point of views on emerging industry trends
- Develop 3-5 year target architecture based on business architecture roadmaps, current state assessment, industry trends and the Consumers Energy research agenda
- Develop an implementation roadmap to reach the target state in a well-planned manner that maximizes business value and minimizes disruption risks
- Consult on IT projects when enterprise standards don't exist or are not meeting business needs
- Lead the assessment of new technology and how they can be effectively introduced to the enterprise
- Participate in the optimization and ongoing operation of the architecture governance process
- Define metrics to measure and demonstrate EA value
- Communicate the value of Enterprise Architecture to business and IT stakeholders
- Provide architecture input into the following activities:
- Business Risk Management
- IT Risk Assessment
- IT Risk Management
- IT Security Management
- IT Procedures and Policies Formulation
- Information Security Management
- Risk/Return Analysis
Requirements/Qualification
- Bachelor*s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related technical discipline
- Minimum 15 years of IT / Information Security and architecture experience including at least 5 years with cybersecurity
- Previous experience with technical leadership of large programs
- Previous experience with solutions architecture in the Information Security / Cybersecurity domain
- Experience with Network Security Engineering
- Experience with Identity and Access Management
- Knowledge of compliance standards (such as NERC CIP)
- Experience developing technology roadmaps
- Experience with performing current state architecture assessments
- Ability to handle multiple assignments concurrently with little supervision necessary
- Conceptual understanding of:
- Business Architecture
- Information / Data Architecture
- Infrastructure Architecture
- Application Architecture

It is preferred this role is based out of Jackson, Michigan, but other metro Detroit locations may be available based on the selected candidate's location.
Position will be filled at the appropriate salary grade based upon the skills, knowledge, and experience of the selected candidate
Essential Functions
Works closely with department managers and users to define and analyze business and operational problems, process improvement opportunities and requirements; analyzes operational and business mandates and legal requirements; identifies and analyzes complex, ambiguous and/or conflicting business process issues; advises department managers on applications development, enhancement and maintenance issues; explains technology and process options and assists managers in analysis and decision making; analyzes management information needs and recommends data and reporting processes; coordinates the development of department priorities and works within IT to align initiatives to these priorities; facilitates user meetings and joint development sessions. Develops and refines business models and relationship diagrams; evaluates methods of improving efficiency and cost effectiveness of business, technical and operational processes; works with users to reengineer work processes; analyzes functional business requirements and translates user expectations into detailed business requirements, specifications and success criteria; works with Information Systems to develop conceptual proposals for business process automation initiatives; recommends work process and/or operational changes to complement system functionalities; serves as an advocate for department needs with IT; stays abreast of developments in departmental processes to anticipate emerging technology needs. Participates in the development of statements of work for RFPs/RFIs; participates in evaluating vendor applications and solutions; coordinates department review of vendor deliverables for accuracy and completeness, ensuring that department needs and requirements have been met. Develops significant application/hardware solutions to problems and addresses change request issues that require assignment of resources. Analyzes and troubleshoots complex applications problems and errors; takes action or communicates solutions to problems; answers technical questions and provides guidance to users on system functionalities and methods for correcting problems. Develops training materials and handouts; conducts user applications training classes and one-on-one training sessions; develops and maintains user documentation. Designs and generates custom reports and user-defined cabinets to meet user needs; uses Crystal reporting tools to extract user-required data. Plans and coordinates the deployment of new technologies for client solutions; coordinates user acceptance testing and the resolution of problems identified.
