Job Summary:
The customer service specialist (customs) is responsible for handling all customer interface for internal and external customers. The job blends responsibilities in the areas of customs compliance and auditing, operations, and customer care for our international and offshore customers.
***This position will be on the evening shift, 6:00pm - 2:30am***
Description of Essential Job Functions:
* Process shipments and trips to ensure on-time service to our customers and seamless border crossings for our drivers.
* Communicate with customs brokers and customers to ensure clearance of customers’ shipments to prevent unnecessary delays at the borders.
* Recognize and resolve documentation errors.
* Assist both internal and external customers via phone, email and fax with inquiries relative to shipping internationally, tracing shipments, billing and/or invoicing questions, customs requirements and requests for information.
* Assist drivers with shipment and trip information relative to crossing the border.
* Accurately maintain shipment history and audit integrity.
* Maintain prompt, daily attendance at assigned work location.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
