Electrical Engineer - Image Processing / Machine Vision

Our engineering team is highly technical and diversified, serving in a variety of markets including automotive, office furniture, alternative energy, and medical. Our capabilities span from napkin through launch, providing numerous opportunities for us to partner with clients in product and process development, as well as in Talent identification and attraction.
We are currently partnering with a customer in West Michigan in their search for an Electrical Engineer with an Image Processing background to join their team.
Responsibilities:
- Electrical Engineering development of new camera-based products with a focus on image processing and computer vision.
- Execute the design of automotive, machine vision systems based on a custom CMOS imager.
- Develop image processing algorithms in C / C++ and/or Octave / Matlab.
- Develop architectures for real-time machine vision systems at the algorithm level.
- Develop verification methods to assess image processing algorithm performance.
- Contribute to partitioning of algorithms/architectures into modules for embedded platforms.
- Interface with Mechanical Engineering, Microelectronics, Applied Materials, and Manufacturing departments to support the execution of electrical engineering products.
- Participate in Product Launch Teams, as required.
Requirements:
- B.S. degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or equivalent required; M.S./PhD degree and/or computer vision education focus preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in developing image processing algorithms.
- Demonstrated success in the deployment of a machine vision systems.
- Experience in methods used to verify performance of image processing algorithms.
