Job Description:
Dematic Corp. has multiple needs for TEMP Installation Commissioning Technicians. This is a Contract-to-Hire position, this is not a direct hire position. Successful candidates must have the below experience and knowledge.
* Strong working knowledge of AC/DC circuits and multiphase AC power systems.
* Journeyman Electrician
* Working knowledge and experience with various PLC and PLC software platforms, including Allen Bradley, Siemens, and
Modicon, with preferably two (2) years of material handling systems experience utilizing one or more of these control
platforms.
* Working knowledge of various network applications, including Ethernet IP, Device Net, Control Net, Profi-bus, AS-I, and CAN, including ability to install, validate and troubleshoot networks.
* Ability to troubleshoot and correct fundamental PLC software/logic and work closely with other PLC and software engineers
remotely to diagnose more difficult issues.
* Ability to read field wiring and panel wiring schematics, and validate, troubleshoot and correct I/O and other control device issues.
* Familiar with barcode scanner systems and fundamentals of operation.
* Detailed and task oriented. Willing to learn new systems.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Willing and able to travel 100%. Some international travel maybe required.
Job Family Responsibilities:
Reports to the Installation Department and participates in the Pre-commissioning and Commissioning activities with the goal of providing Controls Engineering with a system tested and ready for more comprehensive controls functional commissioning and integration.
Key Responsibilities:

2. Work closely with electrical installers and Controls Engineers to implement and validate simple to highly complex material handling systems at customer sites located throughout North America.
Load emulated PLC programs and complete static functional testing according to received
3.Description of Operation and drawing documentation for custom material handling systems.
4. Complete material handling system I/O and device level checkout and validation. Troubleshoot and correct component problems ( PLC, field devices, network repeaters, etc.) as required.

6. Testing, validate and troubleshoot various communications and controls networks such as Ethernet IP, Device Net, Control Net, Profi-bus, AS-I, and CAN.

8. Turnover validated subsystems to controls engineering group, with appropriate validation checklists.

10. Provide daily and weekly progress reports of accomplished tasks and exceptions.
