Primary Purpose:
The primary purpose of this position is to perform all phases of calibration, testing, and troubleshooting on instrumentation having digital or analog circuitry. Repairs customer returns and has the ability to dismantle and reassemble a wide variety of instruments during the repair process. Performs testing of new products and prototypes. Works with Engineering to debug new products and prototypes.
Primary Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Follows complex prints, schematic diagrams, and test procedures to complete initial calibration, troubleshooting, and final test.
- Using a variety of precision standard and special measuring, calibrating and test devices, is able to troubleshoot instruments on the chamber test floor, and perform testing of new products and prototypes.
- Has knowledge and ability to recognize mechanical and electrical problems which may require Engineering review.
- Using the equipment listed above, repairs outdated and obsolete instruments which are returned for repair.
- Has knowledge and ability to train new hires and answer a wide variety of questions pertaining to test procedures and difficult problems.
- Using a variety of tools and equipment common to the trade, builds and repairs functional test fixtures.
- Ability to generate reports from test data and document R.M.T. information.
- Willing and able to communicate by telephone to provide assistance to Field Service technicians regarding instrument troubleshooting and repair.
