Nexteer is looking for a highly motivated individual to work as the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) engineer for the Halfshaft. In this position, the candidate will be involved in all phases of the project and will support all functions in the process regarding quality requirements. Each customer has a specific project tracker system; the APQP engineer is responsible for updating the system to provide the customer with information regarding the status of the project. Additionally, the APQP engineer is responsible to collect lessons learned and support implementation of corrective actions in the new projects. Depending on the project, there could be the opportunity for international travel.
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Completion of Customer APQP requirements for Halfshaft programs
· Understand and Communicate Customer Specific Quality requirements to Nexteer organization
· Ensure Quality goals are captured on all new programs (Warranty, Part Per Millions, First Time Quality) and included by Program Manager in the Customer Program Implementation tracker. Ensure Product Development Team is driving action plans to address any gaps (current performance to goals).
· Quality representative for all Customer Program Implementation activities such as Manufacturing System Design, Machine Qualification1/MQ2, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis, Production Part Approval Process, Line Side Review, Design Review, Bill Of Material Risk assessment, Prototype Build, and Launch.
· Ensure Lessons Learned are captured and incorporated into new projects during the Bill Of Material risk assessment, design reviews etc…
· Work with Plant Quality Engineer to ensure a smooth transition from APQP to launch.
· Maintain knowledge of Nexteer procedures applicable to the APQP activities
· Quality representative for Change Review Board
· Quality reporting to Halfshaft Product Team
QUALIFICATIONS:
DEGREE: Bachelor of Science Degree (Engineering preferred)
· Knowledge of Automotive Industry (5 year experience)
· Good communications skills
· Prior experience in Engineering, APQP, and Project Management preferred
· Available for possible travels abroad
