The Compression and Storage Planning and Scheduling Department is responsible for the safe and productive planning and execution of field work for both Compression and Storage Organizations. The Team develops and optimizes works plans, provides leadership and direction for Compression and Storage field locations to optimize field and other resource
utilization as well as provide planning decision analysis.
Job Description/Responsibilities
There are two vacancies. One selected candidate will have responsibility for St. Clair Compressor Station and the other selected candidate will have responsibility for Overisel Compressor/Storage and White Pigeon Compressor stations.
The Planner/Scheduler * Field Leader position is responsible for the safe and productive planning and execution of field work for both a Compressor Station and Storage Field location. Responsibilities include development and optimization of work plans, providing leadership and direction for the Energy Delivery/Energy Operations organizations to optimize field and other resource utilization as well as providing planning decision analysis.
The Planner/Scheduler is responsible to facilitate the planning and scheduling process involving input from multiple departments, including Engineering, Project Management, Gas Control, Statewide Budget Analysis, Supply Chain, Contract Administration, Training and Scheduling.
The Planner/Scheduler is responsible for organizing operations over the entire operation cycle, with input from the following: strategic plan/budge, approved engineering and project management and projects, known changes to the operations, economic factors, productivity, projects and program work and rate case impacts.
The Planner/Scheduler plans and executes work schedules and diagnoses problems to ensure quality control, preventative maintenance and compliance with safety procedures and regulations.
The Planner/Scheduler considers each stage of the work plan and major maintenance schedules of compressor station and storage field location systems to increase efficiency and productivity and to ensure appropriate application and prioritization of resources for both labor and non-labor. The Planner/Scheduler is responsible for the smooth and seamless execution of the field schedule and plan both O&M and capital workload to ensure timely execution of work plan deliverables.
Requirements/Qualification
The Planner/Scheduler-Field Leader will assist the Field Leaders in providing leadership to employees. This includes filling in for the Field Leader(s) while they are on vacation or attending meetings and participate in area supervisory on-call duties, once all Field Leader and On-Call OQ and training are obtained.
Responsibilities include conducting Field Safety Audits, leading and providing technical expertise, interacting with customers and directing work activities to meet established work plans and objectives.
Candidate must be able to help facilitate team and department meetings along with field visits. Candidate must be able to collaborate with peers and supporting departments to create and maintain a work environment that supports achievement of safety and health initiative, compliance programs and productivity common goals.
Experience working in a union environment, knowledge of our working agreement and prior supervisory experience is desired. Competent abilities are required in the areas of problem solving, communication, decision-making, safe work practices, team building and leadership.
Requirements:
Required Skills: the successful candidate must possess and demonstrate through experience, proven analytical and diagnostic skills and a history of proactive work practices. Strong oral and written communication skills are required. The candidate must have experience in MS Excel, workload forecasting and assessing resource requirements. Ability to
facilitate/lead meetings and strong interpersonal skills are required. Must have demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with others at all levels of the organization, strong organizational skills (time management and multi-tasking), ability to
drive desired results, demonstrated project management experience and the ability to coordinate planning activities across multiple headquarter sites.
Preferred Skills: experience in the planning and scheduling process, Gas T&S experience. Business knowledge, understanding of crewing concepts, budgeting/accounting (ex: O&M vs Capital, etc). knowledge of work order structure in SAP.
Desired Skills: High proficiency with Microsoft Excell, working knowledge of MS Access is highly desirable. Must be flexible, have demonstrated strong administrative skills and able to coordinate planning activities across multiple headquarter sites.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for the planning, organization, coordination, evaluating and supervision of employees assigned to the operation, maintenance and construction of gas distribution systems, customer gas services, buildings and grounds or utility support areas. Recommends proposed changes and enhancements to systems and facilities operation, responds to complaints and requests for information, prepares and maintains reports of completed job orders and the status of jobs in progress. Inspects job sites to check on work progress, assure satisfactory completion and plans new assignments, prepares requisitions for operations and maintenance supplies, equipment and materials and supervises special projects as required. Conducts regular safety meetings, participates as a member of safety committee; investigates and completes necessary incident reports and accident reports; maintains records, prepares and submits required reports for appropriate agencies. Implements preventative maintenance programs.
