JOB TITLE: Pre-Production Launch Coordinator:
Engineering Coordinator (Pre-Production Launch Coordinator PLC) - conducts the following 4 Coordination roles for the Launch Team (Release, Project, Material and Manufacturing).
Must have at least functional/practical experience in 2 of the 5 key areas: Release Coordination, Project Coordination, Material Coordination, Manufacturing Coordination, Engineering Coordinator (Pre-Production Launch Coordinator PLC).
Must have 2 of the 3 backgrounds:
Materials Coordination
BOM Release
Build Coordination
The BOM part is very important. Candidates need to know how to structure a BOM and know what might be missing (and have BOM release experience). On the Materials side, candidates should have some SAP background, know how to order parts, and have worked with suppliers on rate and flow issues. On the Build side (or Engineering Coordination), candidates should have some product change management experience and be able to figure out where the group is at with their parts.
1. Release Coordination. (20% effort)
Manages the release of product data in Product Lifecycle Management system for (1) Drawing on-time Delivery, (2) Tool and Part Orders on-time, and (3) Part availability on-time for Build Event.
2. Material Coordination. (50% effort)
Creates purchase requisitions in SAP SRM to ensure the right part, right revision, right quantity, and right cost is delivered on time for Internal and Customer preproduction build event; Manages all Material Management activities at the Build facility to assure a 100% "on-time" customer delivery though the PV Build; Supports the Build Event financial tracking process.
3. Build Coordination. (30% effort)
Expedites parts shipments / manage crises, Coach Engineering through Product Change Management, Report weekly and monthly metrics, Support product change meetings. Strong team participation, opinions/judgment considered sought after by other team members.
