The Vice President of Communications, Powertrain is responsible for Powertrain Segment Communications. Investor Relations and Government Relations are company-wide roles. Both roles support the business strategy of a global vehicle component manufacturing organization with more than 30,000 employees across 65 manufacturing sites and 14 technical centers. The position is responsible for co-managing a multi-national internal communications, media relations and marketing communications function with team members based in Europe, Asia and the United States. The position will provide strategic direction and counsel on internal and external communications to company leaders, and develop and execute successful strategy and tactics to accomplish communications objectives. This role is a leadership role that requires team management and development responsibilities. Demonstrates strong writing skills that can be applied in a variety of external and internal communications initiatives. Develop and execute proactive and reactive media relations strategies to support company goals and initiatives and to help protect Federal-Mogul's reputation. Established relationships with business and trade journalists are preferred. Reviews Powertrain segment and business unit communications for internal and external audiences to ensure alignment with overall Federal-Mogul positioning, messaging and compliance with the company's standards. Manages the process for the creation and communications of global, multi-lingual content on the company's primary web-based vehicles reaching external audiences () and internal audiences (FM World). Provides communications consulting and content development and production in support of change management issues and key corporate initiatives, such as fostering an increased culture of innovation and reinforcing Federal-Mogul's Core Values. Serves as a liaison with outside consultants and vendors as they relate to communication projects Leads and manages the content management processes and tasks, including concept creation, writing, proofreading, editing, routing and publishing to different internal and external communication vehicles. Manages the creation and distribution of news releases to support investor relations and business unit initiatives for both general business and trade media. Develops communications strategies and content for employee communications. Works closely with HR team to identify specific employee communication opportunities to help drive increased employee engagement, assessing the value and fit, and developing the necessary communications. Leads employee events, meetings, webcasts, etc., including annual Powertrain leadership conference. Evaluates and measures the success of communication strategies to drive increased employee understanding and morale and make recommended adjustments based on best practices. Develops and demonstrates a strong, thorough knowledge of the overall Federal-Mogul business strategy as well as specific businesses within the company, and a strong grasp of key relevant issues and opportunities that can affect the company today and tomorrow. Ability to collaborate and work with other company communications team members as appropriate on issues broader than Powertrain segment. Must be equally comfortable working independently or as a member of a team as required. Must be a self-starter who is adept at developing strategy and personally executing tactics.REQUIREMENTS: Undergraduate degree in Communications or related field required. Masters degree in Communications or related field preferred. A minimum of 7-10 years experience in both internal communications and external media relations is required. Automotive experience is required. Excellent business acumen and broad experience/understanding of all facets of communication and marketing. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail. Skill in writing for a variety of audiences and channels. Strong editing and proofreading skills. Ability to translate complex ideas and concepts into language easily understood by non-specialists. Strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills. Proven ability to successfully handle multiple projects and meet critical deadlines in fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Strong interpersonal skills to facilitate work with a wide range of individuals and groups from culturally diverse backgrounds. Global work experience is a preferred. Crisis communications experience. Experience leading and managing events for internal and external audiences. Financial communications and investor relations experience is preferred....
