Are you a Sr. Program Manager looking for a dynamic company to join? Due to our steady growth, we have an immediate opening for a Sr. Program Manager who will be responsible for the leadership of the engineering team that is responsible for designing, integrating, developing and launching a new vehicle. The team is responsible for delivering key program objectives, and the Sr. Program Manager is responsible for ensuring the team is meeting the objectives. Program objectives include maintaining timing and prioritizing issues and resources as required to keep program on-track. The Sr. Program Manager is also the main point of contact with the OEM’s management team, including reporting the status of key program metrics on a regular basis. Once the product has been launched, this Sr. Program Manager will have the opportunity to continue the management of the engineering team to support the ongoing engineering and development of this vehicle. The Sr. Program Manager is also responsible for managing the budget and resources and reporting status and issues to the Roush senior management team. This position is located at our Allen Park, MI facility.
Responsibilities:
- Interface with the OEM senior management as the single point of contact for all engineering and launch related issues.
- Develop timing and resource plans to ensure program is meeting the budget and OEM’s timing plan.
- Provide leadership of the Roush cross-functional team (CAE, design & release, build, etc.) to deliver program objectives, including ensuring timely decisions & tradeoffs are made throughout the program’s lifecycle, including vehicle architecture, packaging, functional attributes, cost & investment, quality, etc.
- Manage subcontractors & suppliers to support program’s objectives.
- Provide effective ongoing communications to the program team, OEM and Roush management to ensure the program is aligned in terms of all program objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business Management.
- Prior program management experience on major program(s) with an OEM, commercial truck experience is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of applied engineering experience on new vehicle engineering programs.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience leading a high performance small to medium size engineering team with responsibility for meeting aggressive timing, functional, financial and other objectives.
- Experience in developing and executing plans (and modifying as required) to achieve program deliverables.
- Knowledge of automotive product development processes.
- Experience producing detailed written reports and relevant presentations.
- Experience as engineering team lead for major systems (body, chassis, powertrain, electrical, vehicle engineering, package, etc.) on a new vehicle program.
- Experience working through the full lifecycle of vehicle product development, including concept, package, design, integration, verification, manufacturing, assembly and launch.
- Understanding of typical automotive component manufacturing materials & processes, including pros/cons and associated cost & investment.
