The people of Metal Flow Corporation are deeply committed to providing the highest quality processes and products to customers around the world. We produce high volume, technically sophisticated custom metal components through the deep draw process using a variety of metals, and are actively seeking candidates who have an interest in working in a precision environment to create safety critical, quality product that serves primarily the global automotive industry. Successful team members will thrive in a fast-paced production environment while still maintaining organization, attention to detail, and a quality focus.
Metal Flow currently has openings for qualified and deeply committed Die Setter applicants. A successful candidate would have substantial production manufacturing and stamping experience as Die Setters are primarily responsible for maintaining production tooling, as well as the pulling and setting up of jobs in production presses. Die Setters are also responsible for monitoring tool usage and working with the tool crib/tool room to ensure that adequate back-up tools are on hand and properly prepared in advance of being needed to avoid unplanned and unnecessary downtime.
Die Setters should have demonstrable proficiency with some tool room equipment (lathes, mills, surface grinders, etc.), and are expected to be able to read and understand blueprints, and use all quality measurement tools and equipment (calipers, micrometers, profilometers, optical comparators, etc.) with proficiency.
A skilled Die Setter should be able to offer suggestions for and/or contribute to troubleshooting and problem solving in a production environment. Die Setters should have a Continuous Improvement mindset with an ability to contribute meaningfully in making process, tooling, and equipment enhancements that will improve production efficiency and product quality.
At Metal Flow Die Setters are encouraged to assist in the development of entry level team members and work constructively with others in various areas of the organization to achieve common goals. Die Setters are also encouraged to grow their own skills by seeking educational experiences and taking advantage of various training opportunities both internally and externally. Die Setters who are interested in advancing to a Journeyman Toolmaker level are encouraged to apply for acceptance into Metal Flow’s Department of Labor registered Apprenticeship Program where they can take advantage of On-The-Job Training Opportunities and Off-Site Educational Curriculum.
