The Account Manager is the lead commercial contact and works together with the Application Engineer to provide the necessary service to the customer. The business situation and individual skills may dictate the method of meeting these responsibilities, but the end result will always be superior customer service and the advancement of the business. The Account Manager is responsible for performing the necessary job functions needed to fully support customer projects.The Account Manager assumes full and complete responsibility for assigned OEM accounts by establishing close contact with all relevant customer personnel to gain their assistance in the development of our products and programs; to discover new applications and technologies; to resolve product engineering problems; to assist in design changes; and obtain approval of assigned product lines on all appropriate applications. Additional responsibilities include:Ensure that all commercial, engineering, technical and quality issues are discussed and resolved with the appropriate customer and internal personnel. Monitor the accuracy and timeliness of quotations, sample and initial production shipments. Maintain effective communications with the Powertrain organization with respect to business trends, marketing conditions and competitive changes. Coordinate and organize visits to plants and technical sites to ensure that the customer's needs and requirements are being met. Actively participate in achieving corporate and divisional goals and objectives as to quality, cost, profitability, productivity, customer service and adherence to budget goals. Keep fully informed of product and manufacturing changes that are internal and external to the organization. Develop new accounts, markets or products that allow the organization continued growth and profits. Support development of sales plan/forecast, long-term strategic plan and competitor information. Monitor and assist in accounts payables. Have the ability to perform detailed customer presentations. Have the ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects concurrently. Have the ability to evaluate the business issues and prioritizes activities. Communicate the changing needs of the marketplace to assist in the development of new products and materials. REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's Degree required; Engineering or Business degree preferred. Minimum 5 years sales experience. Must possess excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.Capable of providing support as requested by supervisor. Experience with selling automotive powertrain products preferred.
